Chris Jones
Chris is an attorney at the law firm of John B. White, Jr., P.A. Located in the Upstate of South Carolina, the firm is committed to dependably providing exceptional, responsible, full-service legal representation to every client and focuses on the practice areas of serious catastrophic injury, business litigation, pharmaceutical litigation, products liability, and elder law litigation. Chris received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina, where he majored in mathematics, minored in physics, and graduated with honors from the South Carolina Honors College. For several years thereafter, Chris continued a career in computer software and information technology, which he began while a student. He then attended the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude. While in law school, Chris served as the Technology Editor for the South Carolina Law Review, which also published his student note, “eyePhones”: A Fourth Amendment Inquiry into Mobile Iris Scanning, 63 S.C. L. Rev. 925, and for which he earned the Law Review’s Victor A. Michalewitz Award. Chris also served as Chief Research Assistant for Professor David G. Owen and was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Wig and Robe. Following law school, Chris worked as a Staff Attorney for the South Carolina Court of Appeals for two years, at which point he was promoted and worked as a Senior Staff Attorney for four more years. Among other things, Chris oversaw the Staff Attorney Office’s handling of post-conviction relief appeals, and he also served as a temporary law clerk for Acting Judge Jasper Cureton and Acting Judge James Moore. Chris joined John B. White, Jr., P.A. in the summer of 2019 to assist the firm in its management of opioid litigation brought on behalf of South Carolina’s political subdivisions against a range of defendants in the pharmaceutical supply chain. Since then, he has expanded his practice to include a variety of areas including asbestos receivership insurance coverage, complex civil litigation, business litigation, and catastrophic injury, with a focus on appellate practice as needed. Chris is a native of Columbia, South Carolina, where he currently resides with his wife and daughter.
